Products from Lantana camara(2007)Phase I

The word weed, which came into existence with the human civilization, is generally employed for useless plant which grows along with agriculture crops, grass lands or forest land. Weeds are plants which at a particular place and time are disliked by men. This is because these plants compete with other more desirable or dangerous for domestic animals. The dominant weed of India mainly is Lantana which is basically categorized as an offensive weed. The aggression of the plants is so rapid that these have since spread to almost all parts of the country. Lantana has expanded wildly from lower altitude to higher areas upto 1800 m. above msl. In many places it has virtually overtaken huge chunks of land and thus known as ‘Green Fire’ or ‘Land eater’. The plants have become a serious threat to agriculture land and especially to ground flora in the forest.
